YEAR 1 - FIRST PEEK AT MRS. SHIBATA

This strip was done well before her first appearance in #048, probably around strip #26 (on the page I found this, there was an abandoned attempt at #27, Mike's first appearance). She looks a lot like Tomoe Toyosaka, I think, but the trademark cut off T and shorts are definately there. Kenta was a lot younger too -- ("Kentaro" in this strip) I think he's supposed to be around 15 or 16 here. Why did this never make it past one panel? Because after I did the first panel, I realized that this was a Sick Joke. What I had planned was in the second panel, Kenta's friends would tease him about his mom, kind of like in #057, and Kenta getting all flustered. His dad would call for him in the third panel, "KENTARO! IT'S TIME FOR YOUR CHORES!" and Kenta would walk off disgusted and embarassed at his friends' suggestions. The final panel would be Kentaro orally servicing his dad. Kentaro: "My friends were talking about having sex with mom. Isn't that sick?" Dad: "I did it once and never again. And be quiet or we won't go on that fishing trip. (heart)" Ergh. I think if I did that kind of strip so early in the game, the strip would have become a lot more evil. The whole storyline got redone a half year later and focussed more on an implied incestual relationship between mother and son, rather than an all too real relationship between father and son.

YEAR 1 - A FART MADE OF GAS

I don't know if this is a Year 1 or Year 2 attempt, but I'm guessing by the art it's a Year 1 strip. Basically, despite the fact that the first 4 Hentai Made of Glass strips didn't find an audience, I was determined to make it work. I had the idea of Cheyrl turing into a sex-hungry slut after the breakup for a long time, and was never sure of how to carry it out. This was a first attempt, and man, did it suck. After "Maybe it's because you called her a dirty slut." I knew it was going nowhere, and wisely didn't go for the third panel. I always wanted to get into this storyline, but just couldn't figure out a way to make it work. It wasn't until Year 4 when I decided to make her a camgirl that I cracked it.

YEAR 2 - THE FRIENDS GET A SHOT AT X

I had a great idea for another Madame X strip -- why not have a reversal? I thought it would be fun to have the friends get a shot at X, and succeed, and see what Touro's reaction would be. When I did the first panel, I was chuckling madly to myself wondering what the swearing friend would be saying while he's double teaming Madame X, and his reaction when Touro would be gloating, thinking that they failed because he failed so many times. Great set-up, I just had no real joke to back it up.

YEAR 4 - CHRISTMAS STRIP

The best Christmas strip I've ever done is the one about the candle, and I was a fool to try and make another one. So I sat down and tried to do a Christmas strip where all the characters would tell the audience what they wanted. However, it was so much like the "End of Year" strips that I couldn't really do anything original, except for a panel featuring Doctor Lovetalk that had me chuckling to myself.
