Shuinji was interested in Yuuko from the very beginning, trying to get her to have sex with him as the last act of her suicide-driven life. However, Yuuko, frightened with Shiunji's intensions with her dead body, plotted to kill him but inadvertently killed herself instead. Shiunji recovered Yuuko's body and used it like a real girlfriend, taking it for walks and doing things with it that stayed offscreen. However, due to a recommendation from his father to meet more women, he found a job at a mortuary which was heaven for this necrophiliac. In the mortuary he met the love-stricken Tomoe, who pursued him not realizing that her status as a living person was working against her.
Shuinji showed natural ability at the mortuary forcing co-worker Tomoe to keep up, with her pulling all-nighters. One particular night had her passing out on one of the slabs in the mortuary, making Shuinji think she had died. Shiunji has his way with the grateful Tomoe, neither realizing what the true intentions of the other is. When Tomoe orgasms, Shiunji is surprised, and Tomoe finally realizes that Shiunji is only interested in dead people.
While this is happening, Yuuko is reanimated by a Dutch Wife Fairy. Escaping Shiunji's home, she plots revenge against the necrophiliac, unknown to Shiunji. Shiunji, upon realizing Yuuko is gone, goes into a depression for a long time, until Yuuko's vengeance plan goes into fruition, and manages to capture Shiunji. Now Shiunji's life is in the hands of Yuuko.
Shiunji often appears as the angel of death in strips unrelated to this storyline.
ARTIST COMMENT:
Shiunji is named after a place in Niigata Prefecture in Japan when I lived there, this town is no more as it has been absorbed in the larger city Shibata (another name that should be familiar).
Shiunji's character design is another one that eludes me, but I think the bishounen look with the dead-looking hair is nearly perfect for him. Like most SL characters he is so dead-locked on his particular sexual deviance that he can't give anything else consideration, and he sees everything else as just weird. I think I made a minor mistake at the beginning when I made him willing to have sex with Yuuko before she killed herself--this is a character inconsistency that occurred because I didn't really know the character when I started.
